  42.         <text><span class="style1">ou may wish to trigger a link using a key phrase which is not a card name or a stack name.  The trigger could also be the name of a card which does not belong to the Context.  Such a link cannot be automatic, since it involves new information.

  46. </span><span class="style1">The procedure for generating the link is this:

  48. </span><span class="style1">1) Type the active text.  Locking and clicking on it has no visible effect.
  49. 2) Click on the text while holding the shift key down to call the link generator.
  50. 3) Check ‚ÄúLocal‚Äù or ‚ÄúGlobal‚Äù in the dialog.  A global key joins the ‚ÄúKeys‚Äù menu item to be used for future automatic links to the designated target.  A local Key is meant to be used only once, in the current card.
  51. 4) The link generator palette appears.  Ignore it for now, but don‚Äôt close it.
  52. 5) Navigate by any available means to the intended target.
  53. 6) Click on the ‚ÄúStack‚Äù or ‚ÄúCard‚Äù icon in the palette to designate the target object.
  54. 7) The card you started from in 1 reappears in the display and the palette disappears. The link is finished.
